Aragua drew 0:0 at home against Unión Atlético Maracaibo, then held on for 2:2 in the return leg, and the trophy came back to the Estadio Olímpico Hermanos Ghersi Páez. That was 2007, with the final itself played the following year.

Everything before that trophy traces back to a quota rather than a foundation. Galicia de Aragua, which had already moved from Caracas to Maracay, folded in 2002; its place in the Segunda División passed to a new club, and Aragua FC began there. Promotion followed in 2004/05, and the club stayed in the Primera División for eighteen years without ever winning it.

The colours changed along the way. Blue and white at the start, then yellow and red in the mid-2000s after the flag of Aragua state.

José Manuel Rey spent 2018 in charge.

Relegation came in 2022. The following season the club did not play at all — the money was not there — and 2024 brought a return to the Segunda División, where it now sits. The ground holds around 12,000.
