It belongs to the federation, whose offices are in the same city, and it is where the women's national side plays when it plays at home at all.

The team dates from 2007. Their first official match came on 2 September that year, in Ouagadougou against Niger, and it finished 10-0.

They are Les Étalons Dames , the female form of the men's nickname, both drawn from the white stallion on the national coat of arms.

What the record shows is two appearances at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, both in Morocco. In 2022 they played three matches, drew one, lost two and scored twice. No trophies, no medals, no run at the African Games, which they have never entered.
