Dynamo Kazan Women

In 2014 the same season produced two finishes that rarely fall to one team: the European Champions League and the FIVB Club World Championship. Dynamo Kazan Women, then playing as Dynamo-Kazan, took both.

The club started out in 2002 under a different name, Kazanochka, attached to the Tatarstankurort sanatorium. In 2008 the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan took it under its wing, and the team became Dynamo-Kazan; in 2020 it took its current name, Dynamo-Ak Bars. Domestic silverware followed in clusters rather than a steady trickle: eight Russian championships between 2011 and 2026, eight Russian Cups, four Russian Super Cups. In 2017 a CEV Cup added to the European Champions League title already won.

Ekaterina Gamova spent six seasons at the club, from 2010 to 2016, the stretch that overlaps with most of that trophy run. Ryshat Gilyazutdinov coached through nearly all of it, from 2009 to 2019, before Zoran Terzic took over in 2023.

The rivalry with Dynamo Moscow carries its own name, the Dynamo derby, a fixture with no love lost between two clubs that share a badge but nothing else.

Home games are played in blue and white at the Volleyball Centre "Saint Petersburg" in Kazan, a hall that holds 5,000.
