Odintsovo, in the Moscow region, had a state farm called Zarechye, and it was the farm's director, Sergei Kushnaryov, who put together a volleyball side there in 1987. The team kept the farm's name even as it grew, playing now at the Volleyball Centre in Odintsovo, a hall that holds 3,050.

The run that defined the club came in the late 2000s, when Odintsovo took the national championship in 2007/08 and again in 2009/10, either side of two runner-up finishes in 2005/06 and 2008/09. Domestically, the Russian Cup proved a more regular habit: six wins between 1995 and 2007.

Since then the side has settled into a quieter role, taking bronze in the national championship in 2024/25. Supporters and reporters still know the team by its old nickname, Zarechanki , a reminder of the farm that gave the club its start.
