Haro Rioja Vóley Women

El Ferial, the sports centre in Haro, holds 800 people. The local press has a name for the blue that fills it: marea azul, the blue tide.

The team that plays there began in 1996 as Club Voleibol Haro, a name that still appears next to the current one.

In March 2012 Haro Rioja Vóley won the Copa de la Reina, beating Club Voleibol Murillo 3-1 in the final on the 11th. That first trophy was followed by the Supercopa de España on 1 November, when they beat Valeriano Allés Menorca Volei 3-0. Only then did the league season begin, the one where the cup holders had to show they could also win over a full campaign.

They did. The Superliga final was played against Murillo again, now under the name Nuchar Tramek Murillo. On 28 April 2013 Haro won it 3-1, the same score as in the Copa final thirteen months earlier. That gave them three major titles in just over a year.

All of it was won by a team from Haro, with a home hall of 800 seats.
