Kelteks Karlovac Women

The men's section came first, founded in 1967 by professor Janko Mihalić under the name Turbina. The women followed a decade later, in 1977, set up once the men's team had shown what the club could do. For most of its history it played simply as OK Karlovac; the Kelteks name arrived only in October 2022, when the local firm signed on as sponsor for five years.

Supporters know the team as the Kelteksice. Their best run in the Superliga playoffs came in the 2010/11 season, when they reached the quarterfinals before HAOK Mladost Kaštela ended the run. They have also tested themselves in the regional Interliga, finishing fifth in their group in a Karlovac-hosted round in 2007.

The hall they play in seats 4,000, with 2,000 of those seats proper seating.

Janko Mihalić is the name the club still traces itself back to — not for a trophy, since the women's side has none recorded, but for having started the whole thing in 1967 and, ten years on, for pushing the women's section into existence on the back of what the men had already built.
