UVC Graz Women

ATSE Graz Volleyball had a women's team. VC Wesser Graz had a men's team. Siegfried Nagl brought the two clubs together, and in 2002 they became the Union Volleyball Club Graz, UVC Graz. The women's side that carries the name today, known in Austria as the Graz-Frauen, or now and then as the "Murstädterinnen" after the river Mur, comes from that merger. Its colours are black and white.

ATSE Graz did not fade out of the picture. It is still the opponent every Graz derby is played against, and it is the club that supplied the women's team in the first place.

The first trophies came fifteen years after the merger, when UVC Graz won the Austrian Cup in 2017 and again in 2018. The captain, libero Anna Oberhauser, had joined in 2016, a year before the first of them. The league title has not followed. The team reached the championship final in 2019 and lost it, and it lost another in 2023. Marie Bruckner, an outside hitter for the Austrian national team, and the American outside hitter Maya Jensterle both arrived in 2022, the year before that second final. Julia Trunner, an opposite hitter who also plays for Austria, signed in 2025.
