It was a result that kept PSG's season moving forward while leaving Marseille deeper in trouble.
The opening exchanges were cagey, with neither side creating much. To be fair, PSG could have killed the game off earlier, but they chose to keep possession instead.
The statistics tell the story. PSG dominated with 61 per cent possession and created eight big chances compared to Marseille's three. Their expected goals of 4.43 against 1.29 shows they should have scored more — ten shots on target and only two goals. Marseille had eight goalkeeper saves to thank for staying in the match.
