Corpus Christi FC spend 2025 in USL League Two knowing the level is temporary. In October 2024 the United Soccer League awarded the club a professional franchise in USL League One, with the move set for the 2026 season.

The Sharks took the Lone Star Division in 2024 and carried that into the Southern Conference final, where Asheville City SC beat them 1-0. Winning the division brought the club its first entry to the U.S. Open Cup in 2025.
