Spokane Velocity

Two trips to the USL League One final took Spokane Velocity to the edge of a first trophy and left them empty-handed both times. In 2024 they reached the final only to be beaten 3-0 by Union Omaha; a year later they were back again, facing One Knox, still chasing the silverware that has so far eluded the club.

The team traces back to 2022, though it took until 21 July 2023 for the name and crest to be revealed publicly, and until March 2024 for Velocity to play a match in USL League One. That debut, on 9 March 2024, ended in a 1-3 defeat to Greenville Triumph SC, with Josh Dolling scoring the club's first goal.

Home games are played at One Spokane Stadium, which opened in September 2023 and holds 5,000 for football, though the ground can be reconfigured for other events at up to three times that capacity. Velocity take the field in Basalt, Impact Blue and River Rapid White.

Luis Gil captains the side. A former Real Salt Lake player who has also worn the United States shirt, he finished as the club's top scorer in the 2024 season. In March 2025, Rocky Wells became the first academy player to sign a contract with the club.

Spokane's clearest rival lies across the state line in AC Boise, a fixture known locally as the Inland Northwest rivalry. For all the progress since 2022, the club has yet to turn either of its League One final appearances into a trophy.
