Samobor KK

Sportska dvorana Samobor holds 700 people. KK Samobor plays there in blue and white.

The name itself took time to settle. The club formed in December 1974 out of the Samobor Gymnasium's sports society under the name Osvit, became Mladost in the 1977/78 season during a stretch of weak results and stalled development, and only in 1980 took the name it carries now. A 2004 split of the senior squad from the main club, put down to internal disagreement, was undone the following year under new leadership.

Domestically the honours list is thin — a regional title, the Krešimir Ćosić Cup for the Central Region, in 2012 — but the club has leaned on its youth school, and Gjuro Simon, now sports director, has been attached to it in various roles for fifty years.

None of that prepared anyone for May 2025. Samobor beat Mladost in the First League final on 10 May and went up to the SuperSport Premijer Liga, the top tier of Croatian basketball, for the first time in the club's history.
