Vålerenga

The ground at Valle-Hovin carries two names. Officially it is Intility Arena; plenty of people in Oslo still call it Vålerenga Stadion, and both refer to the same 16,555-seat bowl on the eastern side of the city. It is a football-only ground, which in Norway is not the default, and it gave Vålerenga something the club had gone most of its life without: a home of its own rather than a booking on someone else's pitch.

The club it houses came out of the Vålerenga district in 1913, a working-class corner of eastern Oslo that has stayed the club's centre of gravity ever since. Blue and white are the colours — blue shirts and white shorts at home, red socks underneath, the reverse when they travel.

The nickname that stuck is the Bohemians, and it was earned rather than chosen. It attached itself to the squad of the 1960s, players whose reputation off the pitch travelled at least as far as their football, and it outlasted every one of them. The club answers to others — Enga among supporters, De kongeblå for the colours, and St Hallvard's men, after the patron saint of Oslo — but Bohemians is the one that gets printed.

The first league title arrived in 1965, during the years those Bohemians were playing. The next did not come until 1981, and then two more followed almost immediately, in 1983 and 1984 — the closest thing the club has had to a run. The fifth, in 2005, remains the most recent.

The cup record runs on a different rhythm: 1980, 1997, 2002, 2008. Four finals won across 28 years, none of them close enough together to call a period.
