Fernando de la Mora took all three points at Guaireña on Monday evening, winning 1-0 in the Intermedia Division's Regular Season round 26. The visitors broke through in the 53rd minute when R. Chaparro found the net, and that single goal was enough to settle the contest. By then the home side had pushed hard for an equaliser but could not break through.

It was a match decided by moments rather than dominance. Guaireña controlled the ball for 45 per cent of the time but struggled to create clear chances, while Fernando de la Mora were more efficient in front of goal. The away team registered seven shots on target compared to four, and managed to put one away when it mattered.

The statistics told a familiar story: plenty of possession without penetration. Guaireña had 98 attacks to their opponents' 97, but only four shots hit the target. They also won more throw-ins (39 to 21) and corners (5 to 6), yet could not turn that pressure into a result. Fernando de la Mora, meanwhile, kept their shape and punished the home side's defensive lapses.

The win moves Fernando de la Mora further clear of trouble in 11th place on 31 points, while Guaireña remain 14th on 25 after 25 games. It ended a run of poor form for the home side, who have now lost four of their last five outings. To be fair, the visitors were not at their most fluent either, but they found a way through when it counted.
