Macedonian Superleague (North Macedonia) 2026/27

The Macedonian Basketball Super League stands as the premier professional men’s basketball competition in North Macedonia. Operating at the apex of the national pyramid, the tournament sits above the Second League and serves as the definitive stage for domestic supremacy. The entity was established in 1992 by the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia (KFSM) following the country's independence, with the inaugural campaign concluding in 1992/93.

The current format involves twelve clubs competing in a regular season played in a round-robin structure. Following this phase, the division splits into two distinct groups. The top eight teams advance to the playoffs, while the bottom six enter a play-out group designed to determine relegation. The playoff rounds, encompassing quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final, are contested as best-of-5 series. A separate best-of-3 series determines the third-place finisher. Relegation sees the two teams finishing last in the play-out group drop to the Second League, while the champion and runner-up of that lower tier are promoted.

The competition underwent a professionalization reform in July 2025, officially changing its name from the First League to the Super League. It is currently branded as the MTEL Super League, with telecommunications company MTEL serving as the primary sponsor. European qualification is managed through FIBA Europe. The league champion typically qualifies for the Basketball Champions League, while the fourth-place team secures a spot in the FIBA Europe Cup.

KK Rabotnički remains the most successful club in the league's history with 15 titles, including a seven-year winning streak from 2001 to 2006. KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom follows as the second most successful entity with 13 titles, featuring a six-year streak from 2012 to 2017. MZT Skopje Aerodrom is the reigning champion, having won the 2024–25 season by defeating TFT 3–1 in the finals.
