Bnei Yehuda Women

Beit Dani seats 600, which is enough for a women's basketball side that shares its name, its colours and its nicknames with a football club. "The Goldens" and "The Oranges" both belong to the Bnei Yehuda parent, and the basketball section works under that umbrella from Tel Aviv.

The peak came early. In the 1989–90 season the team met Maccabi Tel Aviv in the State Cup final and won 65–64, with Aloma Goren scoring the winning basket. The same season they finished second in the Ligat Ha'Al, the top league. They would lose three more finals after that, the last in 2001–02, so the 1990 win stayed the only one.

Money set the limits after that. Bnei Yehuda won the League Cup in 2008–09, beating Maccabi Afula, and by the end of that season they had been relegated from the Ligat Ha'Al to the second-tier Liga Leumit. The club could not secure a suitable budget. The trophy and the drop came within the same season.

Many of the players who carried the name, among them Limor Mizrahi and Odelya Madmon, came through the club's own academy.

The nearest rivals are in the same city. Maccabi Tel Aviv, beaten in the 1990 final, and Hapoel Tel Aviv are both on the doorstep, and games against Hapoel form part of the Tel Aviv Derby.
