Maccabi Ramat Gan Women

The team began in 1953 as a neighbourhood side. Residents of the Ramat Chen district of Ramat Gan set up a local sports club, and it took the name Maccabi Ramat Chen. The women's basketball team came twenty years later, when Maccabi Tel Aviv handed one of its women's squads to Ramat Gan. For decades it was known as "Bnot Maccabi Ramat Chen", the daughters of Maccabi Ramat Chen.

The early years brought State Cup wins in 1981 and 1983, and in November 1981 Orna Ostfeld scored 108 points in a 221–21 win over M.A. Megiddo. The score earned her a Guinness World Record, and in 2009 she was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

In the summer of 2019 the women's team merged with the city's men's club, Ironi Ramat Gan, and became Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan. The old Ramat Chen emblem gave way to a joint one, and the purple and white stayed. The State Cup they won in 2017 was the only trophy in those seasons. Then the league title came in 2019/20 and again in 2020/21, and the State Cup followed in 2021.

The 1,500-seat Zisman Arena is home to a side that meets Hapoel Tel Aviv, the "Big Derby", and Elitzur Ramla in finals. In 2025/26, under coach Eden Anbar, they won the Winner Cup, the pre-season tournament, and then the State Cup for the sixth time.
