Two thousand seats is not a lot of room, but the Kiryat Menahem Arena, also known as the Ralph Klein Sports Hall, has been enough to hold Ramla's crowds through nearly every women's basketball title Israel has handed out. The club traces back to 1970, when Maccabi Tel Aviv split its women's section in two and sent one half to the city, an arrangement that within a generation left the newcomers with a stronger record than the club that spun them off.

Thirteen league championships followed, stretching from 1996 to 2024, but the season that set Ramla apart from every other Israeli women's team was 2010–11. They beat ASPTT Arras over two legs to win the EuroCup Women, the only European trophy an Israeli women's side has ever lifted, and paired it with the league and cup double to complete a domestic Triple no club here had managed before.

Money has twice pulled the other way. A three-million-shekel tax debt forced a dissolution in 2005, and the team came back the following year as Elitzur Achva Ramla and won the double within two seasons. A second collapse in 2015, this time over debts to FIBA, pushed the club's future onto its youth side, Elitzur Nohe David Ramla, which fought its way back to the top flight by 2017 and kept the name and the rivalry with Maccabi Bnot Ashdod alive into the following decade. Eden Rotberg, the current captain, was named the league's most valuable player for 2023–24, a reminder that the roster renews itself faster than the club's finances ever quite catch up.

No Israeli women's team has reached a European final since Arras, and Ramla has not been back to one either.
