Centre Federal BB Women

The women's side of the Centre Fédéral plays in the Ligue Féminine 2, the second tier of French women's basketball, and no result there moves it up or down: as a national development centre it is exempt from promotion and relegation. The league table is therefore a training measure, not a goal. Each season the squad is a group of young players testing themselves against senior opponents, and it has never won the LF2 or the Coupe de France.

The centre was set up in 1983 by the French Basketball Federation and sits inside the national sports institute, INSEP, in Paris. Its job was to train players for the national teams, and the senior women's team is where that work meets adult competition. Home games are in Salle P2 of the Complexe Nelson Paillou, which holds 312. The team wears white and blue and is usually called CFBB, or simply INSEP.

The head coach is Cathy Melain. The women's alumni list runs from Céline Dumerc and Sandrine Gruda to Iliana Rupert, who came through more recently.
