«DBB Linz Wels»
DBB LZ OO grew out of that gap, formed as a performance centre for Upper Austria and built around the pooled resources of women's basketball in the two cities. Its name reflects that purpose directly: DBB for the women's basketball association behind it, LZ OÖ for the Leistungszentrum Oberösterreich, the regional performance programme it exists to run.
American coach Dana Beszczynski took charge from the club's founding year through 2020.
The team plays out of the FCN KFZ Bauer Arena in Wels, a ground it shares with men's teams and one that sits apart from the Raiffeisen Arena across town, home to the men's powerhouse Raiffeisen Flyers Wels. DBB Linz Wels now competes in the Austrian Basketball Superliga, the country's top division for women, wearing black and white.
What the club has not done yet is win anything there. Recent Superliga titles have gone to BK Duchess and UBSC-DBBC Graz, and DBB Linz Wels has yet to add its own name to that list.
