Vienna Timberwolves Women

Late in the season the Wolves are chasing something the senior women's side has never had: a national title. They reached the final of the win2day Basketball Damen Superliga in 2026. In the Basketball Austria Cup der Damen, the same group got as far as the quarter-finals in the 2024/2025 campaign, one round short of matching the ambition now on show.

The section grew out of a much older basketball operation in Vienna, one that changed hands and names more than once before settling on the Timberwolves brand, and the women's team plays under purple and white at the T-Mobile Dome, a compact 800-seat hall known locally as the Wolves Dome. It is not a venue built for a title contender, which makes the current push to the final harder to explain away as circumstance.

The clearest sign that something has been built rather than assembled overnight is the youth sector: the under-19 side won the Austrian championship in the 2021/2022 season. The rivalry with Basket Flames Wien, played out as the Wiener Derby, remains the fixture that tells the club most about where it stands against the rest of the city.

Sara Solyom is the name attached to that progress. Called up to the Austrian national team out of this squad.
