Lund Women

That distinction runs through the whole institution. IK Eos began in 1949 as a walking club, founded by Set Odelsberg, and added basketball soon after; three Swedish championships and three youth titles from the 1950s all belong to the men's and junior sides. The women's team has built its record separately, in Eoshallen , a 350-seat hall on Arkivgatan that the club owns outright — one of the few privately run arenas of its kind in the country.

Green and white have been the colours since the start, worn tightly enough by the community around the team that people here still call themselves Gröna gemenskapen , the green community. The club's reach goes beyond its own fixtures: in 1979 it launched Lundaspelen, which grew into one of the largest youth basketball tournaments in Europe, and since 2016 it has run a social outreach programme called Eos Cares alongside the basketball.

The name most associated with the women's team is Maria Gültekin, a Swedish international who has spent the bulk of her career at the club and has become the player Lund's basketball crowd measures the team's seasons by.
