Brahe Women

Solna Vikings are the one opponent whose name still comes up in Huskvarna. The two sides met in the Swedish Championship final of 2003–04, and Solna won 3–0. The third game was the closest of the series. It finished 66–64 to Solna, decided in the final seconds by a shot from Johanna Axelsson. That silver medal is the highest the women's side has reached, and no title has followed it.

Nothing nearer home has filled the space a rival would take. Brahe Women are the only women's team in Huskvarna, so the town has no derby to speak of. Wetterbygden Sparks, now Stars, belong to the same city basketball organisation and use the same hall. The team's only real rivalry is with a club from Stockholm.

Brahe Basket, the club behind the women's team, began in 1976 and has run men's and women's sides since. The women, known as the Brahe Suns, now play in Basketligan Women, the top division in Sweden. They wear white at home and red away.

They have never played anywhere but Huskvarna Sporthall, on Alfred Dahlinvägen. It holds 700, so a full house there is a few hundred people close to the court.
