Plamen Požega Women

Plamen has carried the Plamen name since 1959, and its supporters call the team Plamene — the flames — a nickname now attached to the club's own player-profile series, "Upoznajte Plamene" (Meet the Plamene).

That long wait for outside attention ended in 2024, when Plamen beat Ragusa 80:62 in the final of the Croatian Cup, the Kup Ružice Meglaj-Rimac, for the club's first senior trophy. It was not entirely unheralded: two seasons earlier, in 2021–22, Plamen had finished runner-up in the Croatian Premier League, missing out on the title itself. Between those two results sits a club that now plays not only at home but in the EuroCup and the WABA League (the Women's Adriatic Basketball Association's regional competition), pitting a team from a town of Požega's size against clubs from capital cities.

Games are played at the Tomislav Pirc Sports Hall, renovated in 2023 with new seating.
