Nik Slavica's name still comes up at Mavrinci as proof that a village hall can still produce a Croatian U19 silver medallist. That stage disappeared for two seasons after relegation from the Premier Liga in 2023, and it came back on 9 May 2026, when the club beat Ribola Kaštela 91:68 in a deciding third final to win the Prva muška liga. Someone in the dressing room noticed the coincidence: promotion had landed on the same date back in 2015.

The club, known locally as Zeleni for its white and green colours, has carried different sponsors' names through that stretch — Adria Oil Škrljevo for several seasons, DepoLink Škrljevo now — It first reached the top flight for the 2016/17 season and stayed until relegation seven years later. Its deepest cup run came in 2020/21, when it beat Sonik Puntamika in the round of sixteen before Cibona ended things in the quarter-finals, still the best result Škrljevo has managed in the competition.

Below the first team, the U14 side travelled to Spain in 2024 for the Valencia Basket Experience Elite programme. Locally, the fixture that matters is against Kvarner 2010, played out between Škrljevo and neighbouring Gornji Lom and known simply as the derbi susjeda, the derby of neighbours.

Home games are still played in front of 720 people at Dvorana Mavrinci, a hall built for a village club that founded itself in 1973.
