When the Provincial Government of Quezon put together a franchise in 2004, it played under the URBL as the Quezon Coco Huskers, a nod to the province's standing as the country's coconut capital — a reference that stuck even after that league folded within a year.

Governor Angelina Tan brought it back in 2023, this time into the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, and the shortened name Huskers carried over along with the logo: a carabao cracking open a coconut shell, drawn by Ardocir Torio. Between MPBL seasons the club also ran out as the Quezon Titans in the Pilipinas Super League and took the 2024 President's Cup under that name before reverting to Huskers for league play.

The rivalry that has defined the team since sits with the Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters, who Quezon beat in successive South Division Finals — 2-1 in 2024, then 3-2 in 2025 — only to fall in the National Finals both times, swept by the Pampanga Giant Lanterns and then by the Abra Solid North Weavers. Judel Fuentes' three-pointer in the 2024 South Division Finals is the shot supporters still bring up. Guard LJay Gonzales, the 2024 MPBL Rookie of the Year, went on to get picked fifth overall in the PBA draft.

Home games are played at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City, which holds 7,000.
