Arquímedes José Figuera Salazar

Cumaná gave Venezuelan football a defensive midfielder in Arquímedes Figuera, who spent his teenage years, from around thirteen to seventeen, in the youth ranks of Nueva Cádiz before starting a senior career built almost entirely away from the country's biggest clubs. At Trujillanos he won the Copa Venezuela in the 2010–2011 season and took part in three separate Copa Sudamericana campaigns, in 2010, 2011 and 2013.

The move to Deportivo La Guaira brought his most decorated period at home: back-to-back Copa Venezuela titles in 2014–2015 and 2015–2016, alongside Copa Sudamericana appearances in each of those years plus 2016. It was from La Guaira that Figuera first crossed into Peruvian football, joining Universitario de Deportes on loan in 2017 and staying on for the following season, during which he made 64 appearances and scored twice. A short return to Venezuela preceded a second, longer stint in Peru, this time at Universidad César Vallejo, where he became a key figure in a side that reached the Copa Libertadores in both 2021 and 2022.

In 2023 he left South America's Pacific coast for Bolivia, signing for Club Blooming, where he remained for close to three years. Internationally, Figuera earned 28 caps for Venezuela between 2012 and 2020 and was picked for the squads at the 2016 Copa América Centenario and the 2019 Copa América. In January 2026 he returned to Peruvian football once more, joining UTC on a free transfer.
