Alfie Pond

Alfie Pond joined Exeter City's academy in 2010 and stayed there until 2021, when he signed his first professional contract and made his debut in the EFL Trophy. Two loan spells followed while still at Exeter: at Tiverton Town, where he scored once in 25 appearances, and at Yeovil Town.

In September 2022 Wolverhampton Wanderers signed the defender on a five-year deal, a move reported at around £500,000. First-team opportunities at Molineux proved scarce, with Pond making just one senior league appearance, and he captained the club's under-21 side. He was loaned to Stockport County for the first half of the 2023–24 season, adding six league appearances there.

A further loan took him to Crewe Alexandra in January 2026. He made an immediate mark, scoring on his debut in a 3–1 win over Barrow, and went on to score his first league goal in a 2–2 draw with Bromley later that month. Pond made 19 league appearances for Crewe in the 2025–26 season, contributing two goals from defence.

That loan spell was followed by a permanent switch away from Wolves: in July 2026, Pond signed a two-year contract with Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee. Right-footed and standing at 191 cm, he has yet to earn caps at England youth level.
