Andrew Fisher

Andrew Fisher's first-team debut for Blackburn Rovers in August 2017 was a clean sheet: a 1-0 EFL Trophy win over Stoke City's under-21 side. He never made a league appearance for the club, though, and his route to regular football ran through loans. FC United of Manchester gave him 13 appearances in the spring of 2019, and Northampton Town had him from August 2019 until January 2020.

The turning point was Milton Keynes Dons. Fisher joined them on loan in January 2020 and signed permanently that October on a free transfer. Across all competitions he played 61 times for the club and kept 16 clean sheets. In November 2021, a shutout and a high match rating put him in the club's Team of the Week.

In January 2022 Swansea City signed him for a reported £400,000. He has since become a first-choice goalkeeper there. Two matches stand out: a 0-0 draw with Coventry City, and a 1-0 win over Blackpool in which he made a crucial penalty save. Russell Martin, then Swansea's manager, praised his distribution as well as his shot-stopping.

The 2024–25 season took him north of the border. He spent January to May 2025 on loan at St Johnstone in Scotland and made 12 appearances.

Fisher has been a regular for Blackburn at various youth levels, but he has not won any major individual award or team title. His career is built on steady work as a first-choice goalkeeper.
