About the player
Ronald became Swansea City's first Brazilian signing when he joined from Estrela da Amadora in January 2024. He signed a contract until 2027, with an option for a further year. The club did not disclose the fee. Portuguese and Brazilian outlets reported it as about €1.5 million, and Estrela da Amadora were to receive 30 per cent of any future sale.
He moved to Atlético Goianiense. From there he went to Grêmio Anápolis, first on loan and then permanently. Grêmio Anápolis then sent him out again, to Guarani in 2022 and afterwards to Estrela da Amadora. He stayed in Portugal until his move to Swansea, and Grêmio Anápolis held his registration throughout that loan.
Ronald is right-footed and can play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder. He scored on his Swansea debut, against Derby County.
He made 46 league appearances and scored twice. He added one League Cup appearance and two in the FA Cup, and scored once in the FA Cup. That made 49 games and three goals in all competitions. He also set up a goal in the match against Bristol City.
