About the player
Andrey Santos captained Brazil's under-20 side in 2023, lifting the South American U-20 Championship as joint-top scorer with six goals before leading the same generation to the FIFA U-20 World Cup, finishing with ten goals in 19 caps at that level. He had already made his mark at Vasco da Gama, where he made his professional debut in 2021 and became the club's youngest ever goalscorer in June 2022, part of a Taça Rio win that year.
Chelsea signed him from Vasco in January 2023. He returned to Vasco on loan that spring, then spent the rest of 2023 at Nottingham Forest, where his involvement was limited to a single Premier League appearance. A loan to Strasbourg reshaped his career: across two spells there he made 43 appearances and scored 11 goals.
He returned to Chelsea for the 2025–26 season and made an impression at senior level, making 27 Premier League appearances and scoring once, while also winning the FIFA Club World Cup with the club in 2025 and scoring his first goal for Chelsea in the EFL Cup that October. In July 2026 he moved on to Manchester United, taking the number 17 shirt.
At senior international level, Santos made his Brazil debut against Morocco in March 2023 and has since earned further caps. He also captained Brazil's under-23 side at the 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament.
