Inter Milan legend Sandro Mazzola has died aged 83. The midfielder played 565 matches for the club between 1957 and 1977, winning four Serie A titles and two European Cups.

Nothing in world football carries the weight of Brazil against Argentina. The Clásico Sudamericano runs through the Seleção's whole history, and Uruguay sits close behind it for a single afternoon in 1950, when a Brazilian side expected to win the World Cup at home lost the decisive match at the Maracanã — a defeat still known in Brazil as the Maracanazo.
The team traces itself to a match played in Buenos Aires on 20 September 1914, against Argentina, before the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol existed to govern it; the confederation followed in 1916, and Brazil joined FIFA in 1923. What came after set it apart from every other side in the World Cup: five titles, starting in 1958 against Sweden and running through 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002, a run built partly on Pelé, the only player to win the tournament three times. Ronaldo won two of those in Brazil colours; Neymar, in a later generation, became the side's all-time leading scorer.
South America has been harder to hold. Nine Copa América titles stretch from 1919 against Uruguay to 2019 against Peru, with Argentina beaten in two of the finals along the way — 2004 and 2007.
There is no single home ground; Brazil moves between stadiums across the country for qualifiers and friendlies.
