About the player
Dudu Rodrigues arrived at Akron Tolyatti in July 2026 on loan from Aris Thessaloniki, with an option to buy, and has since made seven Russian Premier League appearances, scoring once. Before that move he had already built a career across three countries within a few seasons.
Born in Nova Iguaçu, the forward began at Nova Iguaçu FC before moving through Artsul Futebol Clube, which loaned him into Botafogo's youth setup. He made his senior debut for Botafogo in the Campeonato Carioca in 2023, then spent early 2024 out on loan at Esporte Clube Democrata in the Campeonato Mineiro. A free transfer to Aparecidense followed in February 2024, where he scored twice in ten appearances across the Série C and the Campeonato Goiano.
His move abroad came in July 2024, when he joined Cherno More Varna in the Bulgarian First League on a free transfer. That spell brought his best output to date: 17 league appearances and five goals in the 2024–25 season. He was named Man of the Match after a 2–0 away win over Spartak Varna in the derby in September 2024. In January 2025, Dudu transferred to Aris Thessaloniki in the Greek Super League, with reports putting the fee at around €1.5 million, though other accounts described it as undisclosed.
He has yet to win a major senior title or individual award. The loan to Akron marks his first taste of Russian football.
