Erik Hovden Flataker

Erik Hovden Flataker began his football journey at the age of five with Skavøypoll IL, before spells with Tornado Måløy FK and Måløy FK took him into the Sogndal Fotball academy in 2020. He progressed through the club's second team, scoring 20 goals in 32 appearances, and made his senior debut for Sogndal in April 2022. His first competitive goal came that June, in the Norwegian Cup against IL Bjarg, followed by his first league goal the following April against Bryne FK. He is remembered at the club for a stoppage-time winner against Moss FK in October 2023 that secured a 2–1 victory.

Flataker's time at Sogndal ended in unusual circumstances: in May 2025, having scored six goals in nine matches that season, he was excluded from the squad after refusing to sign a contract extension. He left having made 81 competitive appearances for the club, with 19 goals and five assists, and had been named Young Player of the Month in the OBOS-ligaen that same May by the Sogndal Supporters Club. He then moved to AIK Fotboll, where he scored five goals in 21 league appearances, before joining Go Ahead Eagles for a fee of around €1 million.

At youth international level, Flataker has been a regular scorer for Norway, netting for the under-17s, under-18s and under-19s, including a goal against Greece at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship. He has also earned a single cap for the under-21 side. He has not yet been called up to the senior national team.
