Erëleta Memeti was born in Schwäbisch Hall and started out at SK Fichtenberg and Sportfreunde Schwäbisch Hall before joining VfL Sindelfingen and moving through VfL Wolfsburg's second team. She came through the German youth system, representing the country at U16, U17, U19 and U20 level, but chose to play internationally for Kosovo. She is the national team's all-time top scorer with 13 goals and now captains the side.
Her club career has taken her through SC Freiburg before a move to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where she made 63 league appearances and scored 17 goals. Freiburg received a transfer fee of around €25,000 when she left for Hoffenheim. She switched to Eintracht Frankfurt Women, where she now plays.
