Hayley Emma Raso

Hayley Raso's career has taken her through nine clubs across four countries, but it was Portland that gave her a title and a name among the club's own supporters. During her spell at Portland Thorns, she won the NWSL Championship in 2017 and was voted MVP by the Rose City Riveters, the club's supporters' group, having already picked up an NWSL Player of the Week award the year before. She had arrived there almost by accident, waived by Washington Spirit in 2016 before Portland claimed her.

Her career began at home in the W-League, where she won the championship with Canberra United in 2011–12 before a stint at Brisbane Roar. Even after moving into the NWSL, she kept returning to Australia on loan, turning out for Canberra and then Brisbane again before making the Roar switch permanent. A move to Europe followed in 2020 with Everton, where she was a runner-up in the FA Women's Cup, then Manchester City.

In 2023, Raso signed for Real Madrid as a free agent, becoming the first Australian and the first player from the Asian Football Confederation to represent the Spanish club. That year she was also shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or Féminin. She left Real Madrid in 2024 for Tottenham Hotspur on a two-year free transfer, scoring on her competitive debut against Crystal Palace.

With Australia, Raso has twice reached the final of the AFC Women's Asian Cup, in 2014 and 2018.
