About the player
Fraser Bryden joined Ayr United's academy at the age of ten and worked his way through the ranks before making his first-team debut in January 2022, aged 17, quickly signing his first professional contract. He stayed at Ayr until July 2024, making between 44 and 54 senior appearances, with two separate loan spells at Queen of the South along the way — the first during the 2022/23 season, the second beginning in August 2024, during which he scored twice in 17 or 18 outings.
The 2025/26 season turned into a breakthrough: by November he was the NIFL Premiership's top scorer with 13 goals from 13 league games, including two hat-tricks and a four-goal haul in a 4-1 win over Glenavon. He finished the campaign with 24 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions and was named NIFL Premiership Young Player of the Year.
Chesterfield completed his transfer from Crusaders in late July 2026, with the Belfast News Letter reporting a fee of £120,000 plus add-ons. He has since made around nine appearances for the club, scoring once.
