About the player
Hanna Bennison was the first player born in the 2000s to appear for Sweden at a major tournament, taking the pitch at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics as a teenager and leaving with a silver medal. She had made her senior debut for the national side less than two years earlier, in a November 2019 friendly against the USA.
Bennison's path into the game started at GIF Nike in her home town of Lomma before she moved to the Rosengård academy at 11. She stayed there through her debut season and beyond, winning the Damallsvenskan title in 2019 and going on to make 48 league appearances for the club. That form took her abroad in August 2021, when Everton paid a reported club-record fee to sign her for the Women's Super League; she was voted the club's Supporters' Club Young Player of the Season in her first campaign.
Her international career has continued to build alongside the club moves. She scored her first senior goal for Sweden in a group-stage win over Switzerland at the 2022 European Championship, and was part of the squad that finished third at the 2023 World Cup before being named in the party for the 2025 Euros. In 2021, Goal.com named her the best young female footballer in the world.
Since leaving Everton in 2024, Bennison has spent a season each at Juventus and Real Madrid before joining Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2026 on a contract running to 2029.
