About the player
Jarvis Thornton has never played for another club. He joined Sheffield Wednesday's academy in 2015 at under-8 level, arriving from Hoyland Town Magpies, and he has stayed in the same organisation since.
He came up through the age groups as a defensive midfielder and took the captaincy at two levels: the under-18s in the 2023/24 season, and later the under-21s. In July 2024 he signed his first professional contract.
The first-team debut came on 13 August 2025 in the EFL Cup against Bolton Wanderers. Thornton started the match, which finished 3–3 after normal time. Sheffield Wednesday won the tie 3–2 on penalties.
Since that night he has added further first-team appearances and now has 16 in total.
He is right-footed.
