William Granger

Will Grainger scored his first senior goal in a game Sheffield Wednesday lost. Oxford United won the Championship match 4–1, and Grainger's strike was his side's only one, in a 24-minute appearance.

His first-team debut came in the EFL Cup second round against Leeds United. He replaced George Brown, another player making his debut that night. The tie finished 1–1 and Wednesday won 3–0 on penalties. He made his Championship debut later, as a substitute for Jamal Lowe in a 2–0 defeat at Norwich City. On the final day of the season he made his first league start against West Bromwich Albion and played 55 minutes. He finished the campaign with eight senior appearances: six in the Championship, one in the EFL Cup and one in the FA Cup.

Grainger scored 48 goals for Sheffield Wednesday's under-16s and Wales's under-17s, and another 14 for the club's under-18s. At Wales under-17 level he scored seven goals in nine caps.

Everton were among the Premier League clubs said to be interested in him. Grainger stayed at Hillsborough. He began a two-year scholarship in May 2025 and signed his first professional contract on 30 June 2026. The three-year deal runs until the summer of 2029.
