Josef Dolny

Forty-one goals in a single season is the figure that defines Jozef Dolný's career. He scored them in 2021–22, when Tatran Prešov played in the Slovak third tier, and finished as the division's top scorer. Prešov won the league and gained promotion.

Prešov was also where he started. Dolný came through the club's youth system after earlier spells with TJ Dúbrava and MŠK Spišské Podhradie, and he broke into the senior side in 2010. His first spell there brought four goals in 39 league appearances, and he went out on loan to Zemplín Michalovce, Zbrojovka Brno and Dukla Banská Bystrica. At youth level he won one cap for Slovakia's under-18s and seven for the under-19s, scoring once in each age group.

The following years took him across several leagues. At FK Senica he scored six goals in 43 league games. He then played 11 matches for Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała in Poland and made three league appearances for Derry City in Ireland. Back in Slovakia, he scored six times in 24 league games for MFK Skalica. At Dukla Banská Bystrica, first on loan and then permanently, he added seven goals in 35 league appearances.

His return to Prešov in 2021 changed the numbers. After the third-tier title, he was the top scorer in the 2. Liga in 2022–23 with 19 goals. Over his second spell he scored 78 goals in 89 league appearances.

In 2024 he moved to Romania to join Csíkszereda in Liga I. He has since moved on to FC Bihor 1902.
