Kgaogelo Chauke

Kgaogelo Chauke, known as "Kegs", had a choice of national teams and made it more than once. He played for England at U18 level, was then named in South Africa's provisional squad for the Tokyo Olympics, and ultimately committed to South Africa at U23 level. His one cap there so far came in an AFCON U23 qualifier against Congo-Brazzaville in March 2023. He holds both South African and English citizenship.

Chauke came through the youth system at Thatcham Town before Southampton took him into their academy in 2017. He signed his first professional contract there in January 2020 and made his senior debut in January 2021. He was also part of the Southampton U18 side that reached the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup in 2020/21.

His first extended run of senior football came away from St Mary's. In July 2022 he joined Exeter City on a free loan and made 20 league appearances before the spell ended in May 2023.

Burton Albion signed him on 29 June 2023 on a two-year contract. He wore 16 in his first season at the club and has since moved to the number 4 shirt. Burton extended his contract in June 2025, keeping him at the club beyond the original deal.

Chauke is a right-footed forward, lightly built at 65 kg, and his career so far has been one of steady progression through lower-league football.
