Louie Mark Barry

Louie Barry was on loan at Stockport County when the club won the EFL League Two title in 2023–24. He had been named League Two Player of the Month that September. He was named League One Player of the Month in both August and November 2024, during that spell.

Barry grew up in Sutton Coldfield and spent ten years in West Bromwich Albion's youth system, from 2009 to 2019. In July 2019 he moved to Barcelona's La Masia academy for a fee of about £250,000 plus development fees. He stayed only until January 2020, when Aston Villa signed him for an initial £880,000, a deal that could rise to £3.5m with add-ons. He won the FA Youth Cup with Villa in 2020–21.

His first senior loan took him to Ipswich Town in August 2021. Swindon Town, Milton Keynes Dons and Salford City followed before Stockport. After Stockport he joined Hull City in January 2025 and Sheffield United in July 2025. Villa recalled him from Sheffield United in January 2026.

He played for England at every youth level from under-15 to under-18. That included 10 caps and 5 goals at under-15, and 10 caps and 7 goals at under-16. He also won 4 caps at under-17, scoring 2 goals, and 1 cap at under-18. In August 2025 he declared his intention to switch allegiance to the Republic of Ireland senior team.
