About the player
The most telling of those came in the 2025 Libertadores Sub-20 final, when he played through a broken finger and saved penalties to see out the title.
That record took him to Vitória SC in August 2025. Flamengo's contract with him was expiring, so the move went through, with the Rio club retaining half of his economic rights for any future sale. He signed in Guimarães until June 2028.
The step up in Portugal started modestly and then stalled. Furtado made two appearances for Vitória SC B in Liga 3, against AD Marco 09 and Trofense, before a stress fracture ended his run and kept him out for months. He had yet to make a senior competitive appearance for the first team, and served as an unused substitute in the early matches he was involved in. By 2026 he had recovered and was working to force his way into first-team contention.
His progress has not gone unnoticed internationally. Furtado has five caps for Brazil's under-20 side, and coach Ramon Menezes named him among the three goalkeepers in the 21-man squad for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
