Miloš Veljković

Basel-born and raised, Miloš Veljković came through FC Basel's youth ranks before Tottenham Hotspur took him into their academy in 2011. Premier League opportunities were scarce — two appearances — and loan spells at Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic gave him a taste of Championship football instead.

The move that shaped his career came in January 2016, when Werder Bremen signed him for a modest fee. What followed was nine seasons in Bremen, more than two hundred appearances and five goals before he left on a free transfer in 2025.

That summer he joined Red Star Belgrade: within his first months at the club he helped them to the Serbian SuperLiga and Serbian Cup double, adding two goals of his own in his opening run of appearances.

Internationally, Veljković's rise came through Serbia's age-group sides, where he won the 2013 European Under-19 Championship and the 2015 Under-20 World Cup. His senior debut arrived against China in November 2017, and he has since gone on to earn caps at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups and at Euro 2024, scoring his only senior goal against Bulgaria in a qualifier for that tournament.
