Matheus Lima Magalhães

Matheus arrived at Crvena zvezda in June 2025. He had spent more than a decade in Portugal with S.C. Braga after leaving Brazil, where he had come through the América Mineiro academy and made his senior debut in 2012. At Braga he was named Primeira Liga Goalkeeper of the Month three times, in November 2020, April 2022 and March 2023.

Before the move to Serbia, Braga sent him on loan to Ajax for the second half of the 2024–25 season. He made an immediate impression, named Man of the Match on his debut in a 2–0 win over Go Ahead Eagles, and went on to make ten official appearances for the Amsterdam club, keeping four clean sheets. Not every outing went smoothly — a 1–1 draw with Sparta Rotterdam included an error on his part — and Ajax chose not to take up the option to sign him permanently at the end of the loan.

Crvena zvezda moved instead, signing him from Braga for a fee that could rise with add-ons, and a two-year contract with the option of a further season. He took over as first-choice goalkeeper for the 2025–26 campaign and played his part as the club won the Serbian SuperLiga, sealed with a 3–0 win over Partizan, and the Serbian Cup, in which he played the final as Red Star beat Vojvodina 2–1. He has yet to be called up by Brazil at senior level.
