Nick Quinten Olij

Nick Olij's road to PSV Eindhoven's goal began far from Dutch football entirely. He spent his early youth years at UE Castelldefels in Spain before returning home to join Koninklijke HFC and then AZ Alkmaar's academy. His only senior appearance for AZ came in the KNVB Cup, and he spent the following years working through Jong AZ and a loan spell at TOP Oss before his career truly took shape at NAC Breda.

It was at NAC that Olij established himself, making 101 appearances and being named Best Keeper of the Period three times running, across the 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons. A move to Sparta Rotterdam followed in 2022, where he made 105 appearances and was named Eredivisie Player of the Month in January 2023. That form brought a call-up from Ronald Koeman to the Netherlands senior squad in October 2023, making Olij the first Sparta player picked for the national team since 1996.

Olij already had a European title to his name by then. In 2012, he won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship with the Netherlands, saving the decisive penalty in the final, and went on to add four caps apiece for the Dutch under-18 and under-19 sides.

He signed for PSV Eindhoven in June 2025 on a four-year contract, and was part of the squad that won the Johan Cruyff Shield, beating Go Ahead Eagles 2–1, as well as the Eredivisie title. His own Eredivisie debut for the club came later, on 23 April 2026 against PEC Zwolle, a match PSV won 6–1.
