Ryan Flamingo

Ryan Flamingo left the Netherlands for Italy in 2021, joining US Sassuolo after coming through the youth ranks at BFC Bussum and Almere City. His time in Serie A never produced a senior appearance for Sassuolo itself; instead, the club sent him out on loan to gain experience in Dutch football. At Vitesse in the 2022–2023 season, he made 33 league appearances and scored three goals, and the following season he moved to FC Utrecht, playing 30 league matches and scoring twice.

Utrecht liked what they saw enough to make the move permanent, exercising an option to buy him for a fee reported as just under €3 million in May 2024. The stay in Utrecht was brief, however: two months later, PSV Eindhoven paid €9 million to sign Flamingo, and he put pen to paper on a contract running until 2029.

The early signs at PSV have been encouraging. In August 2024, shortly after his arrival, he was named to the Eredivisie Team of the Month. At international level, Flamingo has represented the Netherlands at U21 level, though a senior call-up has not yet followed.
