About the player
Nina Lührsen came through the youth ranks at Werder Bremen, working her way into the first team, where she made her Frauen-Bundesliga debut in September 2017. Her time in Bremen included two promotion campaigns, as the club finished second in the 2. Bundesliga in 2014–15 and again in the 2. Bundesliga Nord in 2017 to reach the top flight. A left-footed defender, she built a reputation for her set-piece delivery during those years.
After seven years as a senior professional at Werder Bremen, Lührsen moved to Eintracht Frankfurt, where she now wears the number 11 shirt. She has made 21 appearances for her new club, starting 18 of them and totalling 1,591 minutes on the pitch.
Her defensive career has also brought her up against familiar opposition from her Bremen days, including matches against Turbine Potsdam. She has not collected any major individual honours or lifted the Bundesliga title or DFB-Pokal.
