About the player
Pia-Sophie Wolter grew up in Bremen and joined Werder Bremen's youth academy after starting out at Habenhauser FV. She made her senior debut for Werder in 2014 and was part of the side that climbed from the third tier to the 2. Bundesliga Nord the following year, then on into the Frauen-Bundesliga in 2017.
A move to VfL Wolfsburg followed, where alongside first-team appearances she also featured for the club's reserve side. In July 2023 she moved on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt, and when her Wolfsburg contract ran out the following spring, the switch was made permanent on a deal running to 2027.
Wolter earned her first senior cap for Germany on 1 December 2020 against Ireland, and by late 2024 had won seven caps. She was called into the squad for the UEFA Women's Nations League, where Germany finished third in the 2023–24 campaign, though she missed out on selection for both Euro 2022 and the 2023 World Cup. She was later added to the reserve list for the Paris 2024 Olympics because of injury.
