Raul Ioan Palmeş

Raul Palmeș has a Hungarian championship medal from a season in which he barely played. He won the 2016–17 Nemzeti Bajnokság I with Budapest Honvéd, making only two senior appearances for the first team. He had come from Sibiu, where he spent his youth years at Interstar, and joined Honvéd in 2015.

Honvéd did not give him regular football, so the centre-back was sent out on loan. First came Törökbálinti TC. Kazincbarcikai SC followed, and that spell was where his career took shape. He played 62 league matches for the club and scored three goals, which is a fair return for a defender.

The loan that mattered most was at FK Csíkszereda, from 2019 to 2021. Palmeș was team captain there and played more than 40 league matches. When his time at Honvéd ended in 2021, he went back to Romania and signed for Concordia Chiajna in Liga II. He played 41 league matches for them in 2021–22. In 2023 he moved to CSC 1599 Șelimbăr, where he stayed until July 2024.

That month he went back to Csíkszereda as a free agent. He signed a one-year contract with an option for a second year, and the club had already seen him as captain. Across his two spells he has made more than 110 appearances for the club.

Palmeș is right-footed and plays centrally in defence. His career has been built mostly in the Hungarian and Romanian lower and middle divisions, and one of its main features has been his return to Csíkszereda.
